Understand each other

Family relationships often carry a lot of history, emotion, and unspoken expectations. Even when there is care and good intention, it can feel hard to communicate clearly, feel understood, or shift long-standing dynamics. Family therapy offers a supportive setting to slow things down and begin having conversations that feel more open, thoughtful, and productive.

I work with families in a few different ways, including mother–daughter relationships, parent and adult child sessions, siblings, and parent coaching for caregivers of teens or young adults. Family therapy may begin with multiple family members together, or it may grow out of individual work when inviting a family member into the process feels helpful. In some cases, parents may work with me separately to better understand how to support their child while also caring for themselves.

In our work together, we focus on listening more fully, understanding each person’s perspective, and gently shifting patterns that no longer feel supportive. The intention is not to place blame, but to help each person feel heard and supported while moving toward healthier, more connected relationships. Over time, family therapy can help foster greater empathy, reduce conflict, and create lasting change in how families relate to one another.
